Bangkok 2: The Return

When we first came to Bangkok it seemed foreign, it seemed scary, it was confusing and busy and full of people. When we came back it seemed so Western in comparison to the rest of our travels. We stayed at the same hotel, this time it was much less intimidating. We could wander around without feeling worried, we could bargain Moto drivers down to a normal price, we ate food from stalls and went drinking in curious little pubs. We had been through the baptism of fire, we were finally able to call ourselves backpackers.
At that stage we wished, beyond wishes, that we were actually back on day one. Our holiday was suddenly over, and yet, it was still only beginning. We were off to yet another continent: Australia.
